Lush Lotus, no more "burnt" pads
« on: May 15, 2009, 03:05:54 PM »
On Joyce's advice I used Osmocote, but I had before, this time I was not so frugal and used a cup almost.  As she advised.  The results are evident.

How did you get "burnt" pads?  I thought that meant too much fertilizer...

It's in an oil changing tub, Ideal and cheap.  Round is good.

Osmocoat is SLOW release, so not too much at once.
I am sure Joyce will chime in with the technical reasons.

The best way to understand Osmocote is to read the label.
The info on the label goes into extreme detail on how it works, in layman terms, so all can understand, except for the extreme belligerant and pigheaded.  ;)
And you can NOT deny how effective it is...although there's always some idiot who will.  ;)
Here's a website about Osmocote.

And another...

I personally think and oil changing tub is wayyy too small for a regular sized lotus, but seems to be working, for now, for Jerry.  8)

Jerry- Have you had to divide it yet, i.e. did it jump the pot?  Also was wondering if it has bloomed yet? Was wondering because you've had it in the same pot for 3 seasons and those tubs are kinda small?
