Bird of paradise in it's glory and Persian Shield "Mysterey" Close up added!

Love the sun making them seem translucent.

The 2 photos below are Persian Shield.  At least one is purported to be.
A friend gave me some cuttings of "A" it did well and has a lovely prostrate growth habit.
I liked it so much I ordered a few from our local nursery.  They are handsome too, but very different.Are the different varieties, or is my friend's  I.D. wrong ?  I assume the nursery got it right, or are there different forms of this nice plant?

Persian Shield 'B' I've known for anumber of years, also kown as Strobelanthus dyerianus I believe.   I've never seen any other cultivar of Strobelanthus but then I don't get around much.  Image 'A' has the type of convolutions in the leaves that put me to mind of a cultivar of Pilea, Plectranthus, or even a Pellionia cultivar.  But to paraphrase Mikey, a closer inspection seems to be in order. :-\
