Having Surgery Again..but not cancer!
« on: May 29, 2009, 09:52:12 AM »
Had a scare, found another lump, chicken egg size, with pain,   :o
lower right stomach/waist area, had to go through all the tests and the waiting...
and the CT scan showed that it is some kind of cyst or lipoma. . . BENIGN!!!!  @O@
They also think it could be a small 'omentum' hernia...will find out next Thursday.
Will be outpatient surgery.  8)

Had to wait 6 days over Memorial Day Weekend to get the CT results.  >:(  {nono}  ::)
Not to mention getting several tests done and several MD and Surgeon appointments.
The whole process is so prolonged it is true torture.
Especially after what I have been through. :'(

Presurgical testing is Tuesday...yup, more tests. ::)

Wating for the test results is nerve wracking.  After what you have been through you can do this one standing on your head!. It will be fine! o(:-)

Did they biopsy the growth to be sure it is benign or are they certain from just the CT?

Hang in there...hugs right back at ya!!

Brian: This diagnosis is from the CT only, which was with Barium and Contrast Injection.

Thanks everyone...this will be a walk in the park!  ;)

This will be #19 surgical procedure in 37 months, including all my biopsies, recon surgeries, getting my lifeport in and out, etc, etc.

Oh Joyce. My heart did a flipflop. So glad it sounds positive and hope it goes quickly and well. Mercy what next?? I've only had surgery once when I had to be put under and that was when I had my tubes tied. So I can't begin to imagine what you have and are going through.

That's good news, Joyce.  Although I bet it didn't feel like it during that loooong weekend wait.

I have a good friend who was just diagnosed with prostate cancer.  They are currently studying options, and will decide which to take.  In the meantime, I know he's just scared stiff.  Scared, but you still have to go to work, and all your other commitments.  Luckily, he, like you, has a strong support system.

Joyce, I HATE it that you have to undergo yet another surgery!  >:(  I am relieved to hear that your lump is benign.  And I'm hearing ya about the torture of waiting to find out what the results of your tests were.   :-\

I am/will be praying for you and sending positive vibes your way!

My heart hit my toes Joyce, you have been through so much. I am glad it is benign but hate that you have to have surgery yet again. I would hate having to wait that long for results, you are in my prayers and thoughts. And I list something for you in members that I hope brings you a smile or giggle.

Thanks Tracey!  8)

Thanks everyone!
Yup, finally got a break.  @O@ I have had my share, haven't I?  ::)
This time around will be a piece of cake.  8) Outpatient so I'll be home same day. O0
Last week, after they passed me through the CT scanner 3 times more than they should have,
I had flashbacks to that historic mammogram when they started taking dozens of pix,
changing me over to another machine, getting out the big guns and pretending nothing was wrong.
But heck, we all know they get paid to lie. ::)  ;)
