I had to take my wife to the hospital for a minor procedure today and they wheeled her off to day surgery. they have a nice place to sit outdoors with an arbor, a fountain and lots of plants. I met a very nice lady and we began to discuss the groundwork. A friend of hers came out and asked her how she liked housekeeping over the laundry. I asked him about the laundry and if they used the 55 gallon plastic drums for their detergent. He directed me to Miss May, an older black woman.

I introduced myself and asked about the drums, she said "Follow me child."

We walked around the corner and there was a stack of about a dozen of them brand new, she said "You just help yourself."

She is giving them to me free. I thanked her profusely and told her that I'd return with my trailer. She said they get one or two a week and I plan on scooping them up. I have a large area behind my shop where I can store them. I now have my settlement chamber and my biofilter containers for free. I do hope to retire in 15 months and put in ponds and now I have a free source of the drums.

Life is good.

Hey, hey I got excited when I found a black piece of tubing about the size around of a hula hoop and about 40" diameter to make a float protection for my duckweed and azolla  Only problem is now I have to attach a net to the sides and bottom so the fish can't tear it all up  I will be nice and let them have some to eat and play in loose in the pond

I was once afraid to retire and leave that security. But the more that I think about it the more confident I become. I have scrimped and saved and my 401k with my lump sum will allmost pay me what I'm making now. I have no doubt that with my drive and energy I can actually make more money doing what I really love than slaving over a timeclock. It will take a while to build my business but I have no doubt in my mind that we will be a lot better off and I will be a happier man not breathing their asbestos, ketones and toluene. I will mow grass and dig ponds, lay flower beds. I will turn a common backyard into a living oasis with Bob Marley in my earphones. When the day is done I will not have to pee into anyone's bottle and I can enjoy the herbs that God placed here. The frogs and crickets will sing just for me and my wife and all will be good with the world.

A local winery sells them for $35.00 each or 4 for $100.00. Free is good.

I made the first haul yesterday. My small trailer holds eight of them and one went in the trunk. There are 22 more and I'll fetch them today then pick them up as they go through 2 a week. I have a large enough area to store them in behind my workshop. I told my wife that was $225.00 on that trailer as a guy in Jasper sells them for $25.00 each and they go fast when deer season approaches because people make feeders oput of them. The ones that I butcher to make a biofilter/waterfall will still have the lower half intact and can be buried to make a small bog.

After doing yard work I only had time for 1 haul so I have 18 of them on hand and will go into town today to work out and snag 8 more. I pass by there on the way home from work anyway so there is no need to burn more gas. I'll be doing 4 nights starting Friday and I'll snag two at a time in the bed of my Toyota.
