 @O@ Absolutely beautiful!  I'm lucky to have 2 at one time today (gloomy weather - still not complaining).  I see some new ones that look like they would look great in my pond too....must wait until next year though  :P

I like the lily in the galvanized trough; name?

I'm algae-green with envy.

I'm curious too: what is the one in the stocktank? The leaves look lotus-like but the bloom doesn't. (What size is the container so I can get an idea of size of plant?)

That is N. mexicana in a 2x4 trough.  I gave it a heavy dose of Osmocote this spring, so the pads are huge on it  {:-P;;

Michelle--that is not all of my containers of water  ::)  ;D

Sorry to say but those neighbors are not nice people.  They've never been friendly or helpful (they were even shooting paint balls towards my back yard one day while I was outside with my daughter (a toddler at the time!).  Our sprinkler main line broke on Sunday & was flooding the yard/street.  The teenagers/adults were going in & out of their house & didn't bother to let us know something was wrong.  A VERY nice neighbor several houses down walked down & knocked to let us know that we were loosing a lot of water.  Unfortunately I've not met anyone local that is just as crazy about lilies as I am as it would be fun to share plants & hang around the ponds together.

I wish I lived next door to you. Your yard looks great.
My noisy Cuban neighbors moved away a couple of weeks ago, and even thogh they kept us up late and often, I really miss them. The new  people are not nice at all. I'm already having thoughts of moving, and it's only been 2 weeks.

I sure wish you lived next to me!

What size pots did you use on the N.Mexicana and how much osmocote did you use.  I use 12 inch oval pots (6" deep) and used 1/2 cup of the osmocote.  None of my pads look anywhere near the size of the ones I received from you again this year :(  But then again we haven't had any sun the past few weeks - I'm not complaining about the weather :D

I used a standard size hanging basket planter (like from Lowe's or Home Depot), covered the bottom with 1 layer of Osmocote, & maybe I threw in a pinch of Colorburst.  I planted in 2 decent sized crowns.  The older pads do get crispy because they aren't on the water so I just pinch them off.  The lily gets only 4 hours of sunlight & I will usually have at least 1 bloom per day.  What temps are you at?  Joyce & Craig keep saying the Osmocote is temp sensitive needing at least 70 degrees to activate it.

It's obvious I don't use enough osmocote.  Our day temps here are between 65 and 71 - high only for a couple of hours - for the past few weeks.   :'(

I'm glad I decided to take a break on purchasing lilies this year as there isn't a lot going on in my pond.  Last year was a hot one and with all the new lilies from Kat and some old ones also from Kat and Lawanna I had so many blooms, although not nearly as many as Kat.

Next year I will have to send you a wish list!  :)

60 blooms! That's amazing. I would love to be your neighbour too. If I could get that many trops to bloom for me I would turn the entire back yard into a giant pond. I guess you are pretty close to doin that with all your tubs and ponds.
Keep posting your photos Kat. I love seeing them.
