Finally...!
« on: June 09, 2009, 05:13:10 PM »
@O@  I have a lily flower in bloom!!!!  @O@ Last week it almost opened but sat for a few days the this weekend....ta-daaaah!  I know, how sad, and she lives in SoCal.  :P

It has been a few weeks since we've had sun in these parts of SoCal and my lilies are unhappy.  I'm just fine with the temps  ::)

The lily buds seem to shoot up then stall, grow fatter, then fall over.  By the time it opens it seems like the flower has had it.  Oh well, at least I got my first and many more to come.  I'm wondering if I gave them enough osmocote when I repotted them?

Do you recognize this one?  Miami Rose?  Yeah, bad me, forgot to replace the name tags in my hurry to repot.  >:(-

Your fish and lily look like a beautiful water bouquet. I love all the colors.

Oh, it's beautiful.  Looks like the fish are jealously competing for your attention!

Not Miami Rose as that is a hardy.  It looks like it is reacting to colder than normal temps.
Kat

There is never enough room for all of the water lilies that I want ;-)

Thank you Kabuki and Julles!  Our pups are normally fed in that corner of the pond.  They were looking for and waiting for yums.

Kat it's unusually cold here and the lilies are all slowing down once they shoot a bud up.

Does it look like a Colorado?

I agree with Kat.  Looks like a hardy.  Not sure exactly which one.  You'll have many more by the look of all those buds.   o(:-)

Your fish are so cute!...Wish I could have fish other than the feeder fish that don't require feeding.

Thank you for all your comments!

Carlos if you want the photo I can email the original to you.

Alfonso I hope the other buds do open but with the look of our weather it may open spent already.  :-\

Greenthumbnails if your pond is mature with lots of good algae on the sides and the usual bugs that visit our ponds you really don't have to feed your herd.  I only feed my bunch because we like to watch them and their antics.

It's raining and the pups are chasing.....watching my buds sinking with every pass  :(  But the pups are fun to watch  :D

I'm so happy to see you finally have a bloom. Hard to believe we are ahead of you. They were very late here to but making up for lost time. There must be about 20 in the large pond today.
You have very nice looking fish in your pond. Something ate all big fish last week. Fortunately we have lots of babies still. I miss the big guys though.

Rub it in Maryvonne!  >:(- >:( >:(-  You'd think we switched weather patterns!  :o

I'm sorry to hear you're losing all the big fish.  :'(  Do you know if it was a bird or animal visitor?

Thank you Watersprite!  This was suppose to be my lily pond but we threw a few wakins and shubs from the now koi pond.  Then my DD "made" me add to the collection by getting into fancies like ryukins, orandas, and ranchus (saw Sonny's  o(:-) ).  I especially like the long flowing fins on most of the pups.

Savannah that is so funny, we call them da feesh too!  ;D  Thanks!
