Can anyone tell me the name of this pond plant please?
« on: June 14, 2009, 05:50:34 PM »
It floats across the top of the pond and I can stick it in between the rocks and it will grow and multiply on runners. Thanks, Janice

I need something for size reference. And does it bloom?

They are no taller than 12" and only 1" to 1 & 1/2" wide at their widest point. I have never had any blooms at least not yet and I've had them for a several yrs. I've tried to find them on the net but to no avail. Somebody gave them to me a long time ago and never said what they were and I didn't think to ask at the time.

Joey I've had them for several yrs and they do multiply but not very fast. If I ever get enough to share you may have some.

The plant has a yellow bloom on it right now and I think it may be some kind of Ranunculus as I did a search on the net and it looks just like it. Don't know which one tho. So far it is only about a foot tall and some are under that size. I was happy to see the bloom as I wasn't expecting that  @O@

Appears at first glance to be a variety of Acorus.

Thanks Joyce. I knew it was some kind of Ranunculus but couldn't decide which one.  :)
Tootsie here is the flower pic and if you look to the right you can compare the size of the flower to the garden hose. I'd say the flower is about 2" across.

Ranunculus it is.  The flower nails it down.
