Am I right in understanding that the difference in cattail & mini cattail is the width of the leaves (& catkins , of course) .... & that dwarf cattail is shorter?

Missa there are several different types of cattails...you have the regular ones that have broad leaves and get around 7' tall..then graceful which have narrow leaves and get 4-6' tall....a giant variety that gets 8-11' tall...dwarf cattails get about 36" tall....then you have the miniature which are only supposed to get 12-18" tall-I have yet to find any of these--even if I've bought them under the name Typha minma I still end up getting the dwarf variety that gets 36" tall...I've made several attempts to obtain the miniature only to end up with failure all times

Thanks.
Then it sounds like someone gave me graceful ... they called them mini, though.

Susan sent me some 2-3 years ago but I can't remember what they were. They look like miniatures right now. I thought that I was about to lose them. Last year they didn't do so well and then this past Winter came through.
This year, they came back and started multiplying like rabbits.

If you think that your question is dumb, imagine how totally stupid you will look if you don't ask it.
