Two New Blooms today
« on: June 25, 2009, 01:38:58 PM »
Attraction under a net in the front pond.

And my big surprise was this, Kat had told me it probably would not bloom for about 2 years & I only planted it at the end of last summer. When I went out first thing this morning it looked like it was drowning, it looked much better this afternoon.

The second one is a Lilypon. I got it from Kat at the end of last summer and she told me it might be 2 years before it blooms if it bloomed at all. She says it is a very hard to get to bloom hardy. I am very lucky it liked my planting mix and wakin pond.  O0

I got one last year, this year I put it in a large round pot 16" across this should give it plenty of growing room.  I will check the depth, but I think it is proably 12"-18" of water above the pot.
