I never really paid much attention to the speckled wood, it looked more like a moth to me. Painted lady's were really common though. The great white was always known to me as a cabbage moth coz they used to eat them leaving the cabbage looking like a colander. I always loved the peacocks, absolutely the most beautiful butterfly in England! Do you get the little violet butterflys that hang out in woodland? They are so pretty and elegant, they look kind of fluorescent? I don't know the name.
The only butterflys I see here are the monarch, and I love them!!!
