Oh, I wish I'd gotten a picture.  We were sitting on the terrace with friends tonight playing a board game and heard a big splash.  Our cat came running by, wet from head to foot.  She was probably trying to catch a molly in the pond lights and fell in.  Once we knew she was all right we laughed at her.  You know cats, they always try to pretend that they intended to do whatever happens.  She had a hard time pretending she meant to fall in the pond.  It took her an hour to get herself cleaned up to cat standards.  She was quite embarrassed, it didn't help that all the dogs kept coming by and sniffing her.

What a beautiful pond and pup mcp!!  Our dogs drink from my pond all the time, but my daughters dog swam in it the other day and pulled out water hyacinths and chewed them up.  He's now banned from visiting until she can control him... >:(

Jonna  lol  that's funny about your cat!  I found one of my black kittens wet half way--it slipped in also and was walking with it's lets all stuck out.  Didn't like the feeling I guess  :o

It's always when you don't have a camera in hand that the best pics happen. Back before we moved to this house, when Frances (our Golden Lab mix) was big enough to drink out of the pond, was curious about the fish. She would get a drink and stare at them while her nose was still close to the water. One time, the biggest koi came up and kissed her on the nose. I wished I had a camera to got that shot. She just stood there dumbfounded afterwords.
Happy ponding,

Well Scooter is now 7 months. Dachshund. :)

I have no string algae in the stream!!  And she drags it into the house.  Any flowerpot less than 12 inches tall is a target - she pulls the plants out and plays in the dirt!!

The other day I was feeding the fish and she saw the food floating where the waterfall stream enters the pond. So goes into the stream, went to grab the fish food, her face went in and she was blowing bubbles out her nose!! Crazy dog!!

Dogs chewing up water hyacinths?   Dogs pulling plants out of pots and dragging string algae into the house???

Perhaps raccoons have been unfairly blamed for pond plant damage over the years..... :D

Here's one of Otto and Augie by the pond.  Emma loves the pond, too; they all love to chase around the pond and look at the fish!

Here's Tita eyeballing the Mollies I had just put in the hall pond.  We call the ponds Kitty TV and I think she's thrilled to have another TV inside.   If she falls in this one she is going to have to swim to get out.

Ok, here's one of my 75-or so patio pets. This is Stubby. She use to be named Jet-because she moved around so fast, but then a big ole' bad boy lizard bit her tail off I guess, so now she's Stubby.(this pic was before she lost her tail)  lol She lives by my pond, protects her space constantly, and I have been watching her since she was practically invisible, she was so small. She loves the pond. She drinks from it all the time, and even goes into the bog plants in the pond to get bugs to eat. She's a trip to watch. And she will come right up to me, with no reservations at all.

My cat Spooky likes to drink from the fountain in the pond. She doesn't seem to mind getting her face completely wet  :raining:. Whenever it's raining outside she gets drenched and I must wipe her down with a towel  :o.

I just took this one this evening.  Here's our little Rimmy and our granddog Erney getting a drink from the pond.

Here's my special boy Tom.  I just happened to snap his picture as he was licking his nose!  The pond is barely visible in the background.

I was looking through my pictures and the only one I have of one of my dogs by my "pond" is one of my Golden Retriever.

This is Riley next to one of the kiddie pool ponds from a couple of summers ago.

Welcome to the forum Jenn. :)
Yes, Erney is our son's dog.  He is comical.  We have been surprised that he is so slow and easy going for a puppy.

Lawanna, could you post another pic of Petey.  This one makes him look like a head sitting on a rock and confuses me for some reason.  lol
