I have it, and haven't seen what you are talking about.
If I do, I'll let you know though.
You do know that when they bring up your update, that you have several choices, to buy or use the free one. You have to look closely.

Actually, I did what Viv did and downloaded the new version the other day. You have to make sure that you download the FREE version.

AVG is sending out an email because they are switching from AVG 7.1 FREE to AVG 7.5 FREE and many people are misinterpreting it to mean they will have to pay.

New Free Anti-Virus

Jerry, I have been using Avast anti-virus-program from ALWIL for 2 years and I'm very satisfied with it.
It has automatic updates.

Kristen thanks, I did learn of Avast from you and was pleased. After some computer problems my tech whiz gave me AVG. I am pleased with that one too.

Is anyone having problems with the new AVG? Mine is not working properly, the updates seems to be downloading with no problem but the program is not activating! All the warning bells and whistles are going crazy!

Maybe I'll check out your suggestion Kristin.

I'm too scared to stay online for long... $:-\$

I hope your wrong, because AVG is one of the best free anti-virus that I have found. It stoped an email that someone sent me a while back and said it had a virus in it and would not let it come into my pc.

I read that to say that the 7.1 version will be discontinued on the 15 of Jan, so you have to update to 7.5.

Am I speaking English?

I am using AVG 7.5 FREE version.

I am annoyed with it at the moment but hope I can tweak it to get it fixed.
