I hope I didn't lose my lilies...
«

I've been in Texas for the American Rabbit Breeders Assoc national convention (just ask me how I did!!) Before I left the coldest night had been about 30. While I was gone the temperatures dropped as low as 12
I have my lilies in the hoop house. I think it was closed up as much as it can be.
As long as the hardies don't freeze they are ok right?? The water should have gotten warmth in the day time to not freeze at night. Hopefully I will get to move them next week into the greenhouse instead of the un-heated hoop house.
Poor goldies and wakins out there too.

I've had hardies(Chromatellas) freeze into a solid block of ice and come Spring thaw, come right back out. That didn't happen in Florida but where I lived in Alabama.
As long as your tropicals tubers didn't freeze, they should be fine. The pond water gets down to freezing here but doesn't freeze. It sure is cold though if I have to reach in to grab something.
Happy ponding,
Scott

Yah know all you have to do is ask
..and I have to check the board
Mini Lops, my solid senior buck (over 6 months, but he is over 2) took 7th out of 84
solid junior doe (under 6 months) also took 7th in a class of 89!
broken senior doe was 14th out of 64
and I only took 4 mini lops total!
Mini Rex, I had a red junior buck that won his class of 23 and then took BOSV (best opp sex variety) over the senior buck!! That is an accomplishment in my book..and I have a pretty new carrier that says BOSV National Convention 2006! That's cool too

Wow Mary that is great
.......You did great.....give yourself a big pat on the back....National placing is a big thing.....You have to have some really nice rabbits
John my dh had a little red female MR that he spoiled sooo bad that she expected her daily petting before she would eat
......I must say Mini rex are my favorite breeds...they are easy going and laid back....but, their nails can sure become sharp...

Do you have any of the rabbits that they harvest the hair from . . . . is it angora rabbits? (Showing my ignorance . . . tho I've worked with the fiber before and loved it.!)
