bouquet plants revisited.
« on: August 04, 2009, 01:30:24 PM »
Many plants that are in this years bouquet I haven't shown before so here's a look at some of them unpicked and un cramed.
  Let's see who's first. Let's try Purple Pink #2.

This one I have been calling Carnea Pink because of the resemblance in color but it's really colored more like Marliac Rosea in color.
It's a dark mottled leaf mex cross plant that blooms like crazy non stop starting early and is compact medium size with high leaf density. 4-5 in flowers, Usually held high above the water on dark stems.

Orange Packman.   Very small plant with 3-4 in flowers, small dark mottled packman shaped leaves, consistent colored flowers. aprox 2 ft spread.

Flat top Dallas.  Great odorata with controlled growth, small size, blooms a lot, smells like anise with pink outer anther tips like they were dipped in pink paint, kind of like a tropical anther tip color but shorter and only on the outside of the tips. I'll try to get a pic later that shows this.

Your photos come out very dark on my screen (Joyce's do, too), so the blooms appear to be floating eerily almost in space.  All very beautiful.

That's very interesting julles, I wonder if it's like that on other's screens.  The way I take my pics is that I have my camera set to take it's light meter reading concentrated in the center I then under expose the FLOWER slightly. this leaves the leaves way under exposed and the flower slightly under exposed. then when I have the pics imported to my hard drive my picasa program picks them up and when I have them in picasa I use there fill light to lighten the darker leaves, which only slightly lightens the flower back to proper exposure without changing the color. It works great and gives correct flower color to my eye but leaves the leaves looking under exposed  and darker than in real life.  This is more pronounced when taking pics of yellow flowers because to get the light colored flowers slightly under exposed makes the leaves WAY under exposed and they look very dark when the flowers are fill lighted to there correct color.  Especially in bright sun.
Maybe our screens are at different brightness levels. Maybe mine is bright which makes me have my pics darker to compensate, and on your darker screen it appears very dark as a result.  Maybe you could raise your brightness level.  On my screen my pics that I post look just like they do on my picasa program, and I can see the leaves just fine, although darker than in real life to the eye.
Does anybody else have problems seeing the leaves in my pics ?  I would like to know, please tell me.

Mike,
The color depth is fine on what you are posting.

mike I see them just as they were in the pond. I wondered before I came to visit if your colors were true they were so vivid but when I got there they were the same.  I sell wallpaper borders as one of my products on ebay and am surprised at how colors look to others.  I have quiet a few  of different  friends computters that I check my pictures on   trying to make sure they are accurate.  For most part they view fairly the same but I find older computters or ones with video cards that are not up to par tend to have bigger variations.
