Sunflower shots

I planted these giant sunflowers a little late in the season for my granddaughters in the bed with the black-eyed susans.  I thought this was a cool shot right before lunch when the sun was shining through them--I could see them out the kitchen window....

Very pretty.  I though about planting sunflower seeds but then started to think our nasty winds would knock them over.

Flowers look great.  It has been a chore around here to keep everything watered in the heat.

 {:-P;;  When I remember to plant them...I plant next to the fence and tie them up with strips of panty hose.

No idea if they stake them.
I have seen fields of Sunflowers in Russia with no stakes.
Mine most always broke in the wind.

Your flowers all look great.  I think a bit of humidity helps.

Very pretty pictures :) A few years ago I remember driving past it must have been at least 3 acres of nothing but sun flowers!! I drove past them in the morning as they were facing the East, then just before dusk, I drove past them again and they were facing the West! It was rather fun to watch their heads turn  :)
