Esther, do you mean Sylvia Browne?  I'm not sure I buy her act but I like John Edward and some of the others.  A friend of the family is psychic.  She could see dead people as a child and it used to scare her.  She doesn't talk about it and you would never know to meet her.  As an adult she decided to take classes and is certified or licensed or whatever it is that you get.  She found a key of ours that was lost in the most bazaar place.  She went right to it.  Spooky.

My mothers SNL read palms in Austin, Texas in the 60's.  She has written books on the paranormal also.

She told me most of it was a simple matter of engaging the clients in conversation before the reading and refering to their "wishes" during the reading.  

Her son...my cousin was struck by lightening twice as a young man.  He appeared on Geraldo in the 70's.  He helped the San Antonio police locate several missing people.

I googled their names.  Apparently the mother and son have given classes in the physic babble.  


 Do I "believe"  I don't know.    I don't rule it out.

When my son was younger he use to see dead family members....my mom passed away may 12 1990 and my son's first birthday was may 25....so there is no way he could remmeber what my mom was like or what she was buried in....when he was about 6 years old he told me what color her dress was explain details of her dress to me....it freaked me out....when my dad passed away, the next morning when my son got up i was sitting at table and he came to me and hugged me and told me pawpaw was ok now cause he was with mawmaw....i asked him what he meant cause i know i hadn't told him anything about my dad....he told me mawmaw came see him(my son) lastnight to tell him to be a big boy cause his mom (meaning me) was going to need him(son)...i asked son what did dad tell u....he said nothing i haven't seen dad this morning....all i could do was cry and hold my son.....all my son could keep telling me was mom pawpaw and mawmaw loves u don't cry...mawmaw said she's with us all the time....

Some years ago, I was having a lot of trouble getting good sleep - was tired all the time, difficulty working, etc.

One day, the phone rang and it was a lady I didn't know, but she said she lived in the neighborhood a few blocks from me.  Well, I started the civic club, and still am very active, and write the monthly newsletter.  This lady knew that, and she started going on and on about all the stuff that I do, and how great I am, and how much energy I have, and on and on - which was very weird, because, even though some of it was true, she did not know me and had no way to know any of this.

Then she started talking about how she and her husband could never do any of this, because they simply don't have the energy.  Then she went on about sleep problems of her husband, and how they solved them.  She mentioned a good number of things - eating too large a dinner, eating too close to bedtime, alcohol too close to bedtime, breathing "recycled air" - like having the covers up over your head so you don't get fresh air, lying on your back which causes the throat to close, and on and on.

Well, I listened to her, and turns out that EVERYTHING she mentioned related to my own sleeping habits.  I put her remedies into practice, and soon after was waking up feeling rested and energized.

What's weird is that I do not know this lady, in 20 years have never met her, I don't know anyone who knows her, no one on her street knows her - I don't even know if she exists - and I suspect she does not!!  But it was a real, live phone conversation, all the same, with a very beneficial outcome.

Just to clarify... a few posts back I mentioned a family friend who was psychic.  She doesn't do readings for the public to make money and never has.  She doesn't talk about it unless I ask her something.  She has no reason to make up the things that she has told me.  Her mother was able to see things too so I guess she got it from her.  She said that "you have to learn how to shut it off" ... and that people who 'live it' and are always talking about things she thought were creepy.  She is going to be in town next week.  I would like to take her to the restaurant where I had my "fragrance experience" to see what she thinks of the place.
