Pete's is "The old Lamplighter" by Sammy Kaye.

Songs were different back then.

"That Lucky Old Sun" is a 1949 popular song with music by Beasley Smith and words by Haven Gillespie. The biggest hit version of the song was by Frankie Laine.

It was sung by a slew of folks whose names are familiar.

Willie Nelson recorded a version on the 1976 Album The Sound in Your Mind

Lucky Old Sun is the thirteenth studio album released by country music artist Kenny Chesney. It was released on October 14, 2008 (see 2008 in country music) "That Lucky Old Sun", recorded here as a duet with Nelson, is a cover of the 1949 pop standard made famous by Frankie Laine.

I've never heard the song that I can remember. I'd like to hear Kenny and Willie do it though.

don't know but it was played on hollow animal bones ,hollow log, and with people with animal skins draped on them chanting ,around what may have been the first controled fire .
