A week ago via absentee ballot.
We are inundated with commercials by Gore and Clinton telling us what propositions to vote for.
I think they get around $100.000 for such spots.  i know it's not free.  Watch it backfire! {nono}
Folks here are annoyed as heck!

I also stood in line for about 45 minutes @ 10:30AM.  Long lines were because of a very long ballot, people who didn't bring their voter guides with them to speed things along and electronic voting machines that seem to slow down some of the elderly who are confused as how to use them.  These machines are actually are quite simple........  These machines also have a printed paper trail which I like......

Teresa, Gigi went with me too, but I brought her in with me.
Since I was the only one there voting at 7:45, (I was #56, hubby was #2 at 6am)
and a few of my friends from the garden club work the polls,
Gigi LOVED being the center of attention. o(:-)

Just got back from voting, took both kids as well, just like we always do, so they know the process, and how important it is, and how many dads/moms/brothers/ and sisters gave their lives so we could vote. Just my opinon, but I belive it is very disrespectful to all those who have fought and died for this one freedom, not to vote!

No I.D required in here is PS either, I think the claim is that asking for an I.D would discriminate against the illegal aliens...

Vote by mail here. I mailed ours last week.

Just heard on the news that the election officials and the Sec of State have authorized law enforcement to collect ballots in the heavily flooded coastal counties of Tillamook and Clatsop. The main highway US 101 is closed because of flooding. They may extend the time allowed for those counties and not require them to stop collecting at 8pm. Don't know yet.

I agree that it is disrespectful of those who have fought and/or died for our freedom to not vote. I can't remember who said it earlier in this thread but I do agree. I think voter turn out is pathetic nationwide. Everyone has an opinion though, as Joyce said.  ::)

Same wavelength here.  ;) We took our kids too, and always do.

Unfortunately, my guys (actually a guy and a gal) didn't win.  :'( Ahh, well, more pork and corruption for Illinois. As if we didn't expect it.  ;)

The local propositions results are in.  The star power failed!  {nono}
Even Brad Pitt was touting the defeated propositions
It is heartening that people are using their own judgment.

I don't think everyone should vote.  if they are uninformed and don't care I'd prefer they didn't vote

One last thought!
I am 99% certain not one incumbent lost here in California!  It is a rare thing when they do.  They have rigged, (Gerrymandered) the districts virtually guaranteeing they get reelected!

They pick us, we don't pick them!

Thanks all for doing your civic duty, however, couldn't you Dems and Pubs who cross voted have cut my party a little bit of slack??? ;)  Y'all didn't just take us to the woodshed but ya kicked my party's arse &-) ;) or as the President said, ya gave us a good thumpin....

Jerry, no Dem incumbent lost nationwide. Not a Senator, Congressperson or Governor.

Mikey, sorry, but no. You know I personally love you and totally respect your beliefs and views but there have been some very bad boys in your party lately. People who have done things I know you don't condone. Then there is Iraq, while everyone supports our troops they don't support the war itself. They feel they were tricked into it and that it is getting worse not better.

I think the voting was more against the GOP/President than for the Dems.

I was a Dem all my life, switched to Republican 2 years ago.  I have been so disgusted with both parties I became an independent.  A pox on all their houses! :'( :'(

I really believe that this election was less a condemnation of Republicans/affirmation of Democrats than a strong cry for change . . . . the Republicans just happened to be the ones in a majority and the American public doesn't like what's going on . . . . . so they are the ones getting the boot!

After the previous three general elections, all we heard about from the losers in the aftermath was voting glitches, intimidation of voters, long lines in poor areas, recounts, lawsuits, etc., etc...I haven't heard anything about it  this time...what a coincidence.
