Our newest grandchild....
«
on:
August 20, 2009, 05:06:03 PM »
Our pregnant daughter, son in law and 2 1/2 year old grandson have been down from Oregon visiting both sets of grandparents here in SoCal. Our daughter's due date was in 8 weeks. Three days ago she experienced severe contractions and went to the hospital. They didn't see anything wrong and she was released and told to take it easy. Yesterday she again experienced severe contractions and some spotting and she returned to the hospital. While there her water broke and they subsequently performed a C-section. Say hi to Tabitha... 4lbs, 2oz and 17 3/4"

Gorgeous! Guess the little darling figured the earlier she could meet and enchant the grandparents the more they'd spoil her!
Congrats to all!

Thanks everyone. We nearly lost our daughter at age 16. She was misdiagnosed by physicians as having ulcerative colitis and she eventually had her colon removed. It was later determined she had crohn's. Life has been difficult for her but she has not been one to complain. She was blessed with a wonderful husband and now two children. I'm hoping she calls it quits as pregnancy is hard on her. Hubby was a nervous wreck for both deliveries, especially this last one since Tabitha insisted on an August birthday, like her grandpa, instead of the scheduled October birthday.... It actually was a blessing they were down here and not up in Oregon since both sets of grandparents are here to take turns caring for our grandson. Most importantly, the hospital she delivered at has what is regarded as the best neonatal intensive care unit in SoCal. Tabitha will stay in the unit 4-8 weeks depending on how she does.

Congrats, Mike and Fetching One. Tabbitha is beautiful.
My neighbor just had her third, also early and also 4 pounds. Took a while, but they both are home from the hospital, and doing fine. I'm sure your family will be soon, too.

Mikey, I find it interesting that Tabitha's middle name is Rose. Does Vinae like flowers too?

Both sides of the families have someone named Rose and thus the middle name.

Tabitha must not have liked missing the party. She is adorable.
I'm sure the grandparents will have plenty of time to spend with big brother also.

Mikey she is beautiful and for being that small looks very healthy. Your daughter is lucky she was in an area close to a good hospital and will have the help of family. Best wishes for all

Yes, the staff is very pleased with her progress. I understand they will try her on a nipple & bottle tomorrow.
